Privacy Notice
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information A Level Business Revision (“the app”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The app is operated by CR & MR Tuition, which is the controller of your personal information. You can contact us at catherinerobinsontuition@gmail.com.
1. Who this notice applies to
This notice applies to everyone who uses the app, whether you just read revision content or create a free account. Many of our users are sixth-form students, and some are under 18. We have written this notice to be clear for them.
2. Information we collect when you create an account
You can read lessons and revision content without an account. If you create one, we collect:
- your first name;
- your email address;
- whether your email address has been verified;
- authentication and session information that keeps you signed in;
- basic account and profile records, such as when your account was created, last updated and last signed in.
Your password is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). It is stored in a securely hashed form and is never available to us in readable form. We will never ask you to tell us your password.
3. Revision progress and game data
If you use the app without signing in, your revision activity and game data are stored only locally in your web browser on your own device.
If you are signed in with a verified account, we also save the following to your account so it can follow you between devices and so rewards can be checked fairly:
- lesson progress and saved answers, including written responses, and the answers you submit to auto-marked activities so they can be checked;
- your review queue and review history;
- diagnostic results;
- your Coins and BizBux balances, a record of the Coins awarded for lessons and diagnostics, your business name, the My Business upgrades you have bought and a log of those transactions;
- an anonymous leaderboard name and your total learning Coins, and when you were last active.
We use this information only to provide progress, rewards, the leaderboard and support. Other students can see only your anonymous leaderboard name, total and rank. Data saved in your browser before you signed in is kept on that device; Coins, BizBux and upgrades held only in your browser are not moved into your account.
“Reset learning progress” clears your learning progress but keeps your Coins, upgrades and the record of rewards already paid. Your browser also stores your sign-in session so you stay logged in. This is necessary for the account to work and is not used for advertising or tracking.
4. Changes to account-linked features
If we add further account-linked features, we will update this notice before they go live.
5. Technical information
When you use the app, our service providers may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as:
- IP address;
- browser type, device type and operating system;
- request, page and session information;
- application error reports;
- security, diagnostic and access logs.
6. How we use your information
- to create and manage your account and let you sign in;
- to provide interactive features such as checking answers;
- to send necessary account emails, such as email verification and password reset;
- to keep the app secure, prevent misuse and fix errors;
- to respond to messages and support requests;
- to meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for behavioural advertising, and we do not sell your personal data. We do not send marketing emails.
7. Lawful bases (UK GDPR)
- Contract – to provide the account and features you have asked to use.
- Legitimate interests – to keep the app secure and reliable, prevent misuse, and provide support, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation – where we must keep or disclose information by law.
8. Automated marking and feedback
The app automatically marks some answers and shows progress indicators. This is educational feedback only. It does not make decisions about exam results, predicted grades, university admissions or anything else with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
9. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the app:
- Supabase – authentication and database provider, which stores your account information.
- Lovable – app building, hosting and infrastructure provider, including error reporting where applicable.
These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and data protection terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
We do not share your scores or progress with schools, universities, exam boards or Pearson for admissions or assessment purposes. If you separately choose to share something yourself, for example by showing a teacher your screen, that is your choice.
10. International processing
Our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual terms.
11. How long we keep information
- Account information is kept while your account is open, and removed when your account is deleted, except where we need to keep a record for legal or security reasons.
- Technical, security and support records are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
- Progress and game data saved to your account are kept while your account is open and removed when your account is deleted, except where we need to keep a record for legal or security reasons. Progress stored only in your browser stays there until you clear it, reset it, or the app replaces or removes it.
12. Deleting your account
There is not yet a self-service “delete account” button. To delete your account, email catherinerobinsontuition@gmail.com from the address linked to your account and we will delete it, together with the progress and game data saved to it. Progress stored only in your browser can be removed by clearing your browser’s site data.
13. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or ask us to restrict certain processing;
- receive your information in a portable format, where applicable;
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
To use any of these rights, email catherinerobinsontuition@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.
14. Under-18 users
The app may be used by sixth-form students, including those under 18. We design it with privacy by default: there are no public profiles, no social messaging between users, and no behavioural advertising. We collect only what is needed to provide the account.
15. Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and access controls to protect your information. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password you do not use elsewhere and tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
16. Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first at catherinerobinsontuition@gmail.com so we can try to help. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
17. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our data practices change, for example if account-linked progress is introduced. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last changed. Please also read our Terms of Use.
